Mama Zahra Foundation (MZF) is an apolitical, non-profit, and gender-sensitive organization founded in 2012. With an unwavering commitment to the Somali people, MZF was established to address urgent humanitarian needs and advocate for vulnerable populations, including women, children, the elderly, and those with disabilities. By focusing on child protection, human rights, sustainable development, and peacebuilding, MZF strives to create a safer and more equitable society in Somalia, particularly in South/Central regions impacted by ongoing humanitarian crises.
Through a deep partnership with local communities and authorities, MZF has earned a reputation as a trusted and impactful organization. We collaborate with civil society groups, global humanitarian networks, and Somali government ministries, including the Ministry of Women and Human Rights, Ministry of Interior, and Ministry of Planning. Since its inception, MZF has completed over six transformative projects in Banadir, positively impacting thousands of lives.

MZF was created to address the critical needs of Somali communities, focusing on reducing child abuse, fostering a safe environment for women, children, and the elderly, and promoting sustainable development. The foundation is dedicated to humanitarian aid, human rights advocacy, peacebuilding, and good governance in South/Central Somalia.
